Crown Resorts Appoints Bruce Carter as Non-Executive Director

The Crown Resorts Group has designated Bruce Carter as an autonomous non-executive member of its governing body.

Carter possesses a vast reservoir of knowledge accumulated over four decades in both governmental and private domains. Notably, he held a prominent role as Vice Chair of SkyCity Entertainment Group, where he supervised the substantial enlargement of SkyCity Adelaide. Presently, he presides over both ASC Pty Ltd, an Australian underwater vessel firm, and Aventus Capital. His remarkable credentials also include board memberships with the Queensland Bank and Insurance Australia Group.

“Bruce presents a distinct fusion of commercial, regulatory, and gaming sector proficiency,” observed Helen Coonan, Crown’s Executive Chair. “His contributions spanning the corporate and governmental spheres have garnered him extensive esteem throughout Australia.” Coonan emphasized that this selection “exhibits our dedication to strategic foresight, aspiration, and impactful reformation. I am resolute in sustaining this impetus for transformation across the entirety of the organization and am committed to further board revitalization.”

Carter conveyed his eagerness to join the board at such a critical juncture in Crown’s comprehensive institutional metamorphosis. He expressed his firm confidence in the company’s prospects and commended Crown’s “ambitious schedule for executing intricate and extensive reforms while integrating the utmost principles of governance.” He eagerly anticipates participating in the substantial alterations transpiring within the company.

As part of a leadership revitalization effort, the firm announced that Professor John Horvath will conclude his tenure as a Crown Director, starting April 14, 2021. Ms. Coonan conveyed appreciation for Professor Horvath’s extensive service, especially emphasizing his role as the first Chair of the Responsible Gaming Committee.

This news arrives amidst the board’s continuing regeneration initiative. Ms. Coonan further affirmed that Nigel Morrison has secured all required regulatory clearances and will soon become a member of the Crown board.
