The Confederation of Asian Football (AFC) and Sportradar are joining forces once more to combat match manipulation in Asian soccer! This fresh accord, effective from 2024 through 2027, expands upon a collaborative relationship initiated in 2013, signifying an extraordinary 14-year alliance.
Throughout the years, the AFC and Sportradar have directly addressed match-fixing, deploying numerous strategies to preserve the honesty of Asian soccer.
The formal agreement signing transpired at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Doha on January 11, 2023, just prior to the thrilling commencement of the AFC Asian Cup in Qatar. AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa and Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl were both present to commemorate this momentous event.
Shaikh Salman underscored the significance of this enduring partnership, remarking, “Sportradar has been an indispensable partner in the battle against match manipulation in Asia. Our collaboration has strategically progressed since 2013, reflecting our dedication to safeguarding the integrity of Asian football.”
Carsten Koerl reiterated this sentiment, adding, “This renewed partnership underscores the strength of collaboration and our mutual commitment to upholding fairness in AFC tournaments.”
