The Crown Resorts Board of Directors has welcomed Nigel Morrison as an independent non-executive member. Morrison offers a wealth of expertise, having devoted over 20 years to the gaming sector, including a period as the Chief Executive Officer of SkyCity Entertainment Group. His addition is part of Crown’s board revitalization initiative, and he is anticipated to occupy the position vacated by John Horvath, who declared his departure last year.
Morrison’s vast familiarity with the Australian and Asian gaming markets is deemed a significant advantage for Crown. Helen Coonan, Crown’s Chairperson, underscored this, noting that Morrison’s background, notably his tenure as SkyCity’s CEO and in executive positions within prominent casino enterprises in Australia and Macau, will be indispensable as the board maneuvers through the constantly shifting operational landscape.
Prior to joining SkyCity, Morrison served as the Group Chief Financial Officer at Galaxy Entertainment Group. His notable credentials also include roles such as Chief Executive Officer of Federal Group and Chief Operating Officer of Crown Melbourne. His integration into the Crown board is expected to be immediate upon securing the required regulatory clearances.
Conveying his eagerness, Morrison commented, “I am thrilled to be joining Crown, one of Australia’s genuinely legendary publicly traded corporations.”
Sovereign Entertainment has consistently prioritized investing in excellence, crafting remarkable experiences at their stunning global entertainment venues.
“Joining the board and collaborating with the team to maintain Sovereign’s leading position fills me with enthusiasm.”
